Sunday Night Fun

Max has been really playful this weekend. He smiles, squeels, coos, kicks and punches in delight when his Daddy and I chance upon the perfect game at the perfect time. Paul and I probably have as much fun as he does! Here's a video from last night of Max and Daddy playing.

As Max is almost 3 months old, I feel that the statement on his onsesie in the photos below represents a big accomplishment. Despite a very rocky start, we've made it, and feeding my baby gets easier and better ever day. I'm really grateful for all the support and information I have had at my disposal. Max is happy, thriving, and fat on his his Mommy's milk.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Max seems to really like his new home. With the exception of a baffling and intense fussy period between 6- 6:30pm for the past 2 nights, he has been in a great mood. He is learning new things everyday- he rolled over from his tummy to his back and back again this weekend (although he has so far refused to do it again, lol), he is grabbing at things with increasing success, and when lying on his back he does these really cute baby sit-ups. On the whole, he is a very curious and happy little guy.

Cheap and Cheerful

Forget all the expensive baby toys. Max's absolute favourite game involves me tickling his face with a flannel receiving blanket. He often squeals with delight, but he gets a bit camera shy. Here he is having a moderately wonderful time with a shmata. Check it out :

Home at Last!

After a long weekend of packing, moving and unpacking, we are finally getting settled in our new home.
Max has taken part of the whole process in his own way.
He helped Daddy find some last-minute boxes:

On the day of the move, Max hung out with his Tia Christina (who graciously provided the moving day photos, which she took on her iPhone).

Then, his Tia took him to Chapters while his Mom and Dad got organized:

Our first night in our new home was, um, interesting. Due to strong winds, a local transformer blew, and we had no electricity until 3 am. Max took it all in stride.
The next day, the little guy enjoyed playing in his new room:

Yesterday, Uncle Todd and Lisa came to visit and brought over some lunch. Afterward, Max enjoyed a sleepy cuddle with Lisa:

Moving Madness

Bébé D'amour

Max is more alert every day. He loves to play with his rattle, his squeaky toys, and he is learning to grab and bat at things with increasing precision. His new favourite game is "Patty Cake", despite the fact that he gets so excited that he keeps his fists balled up as I tap on them as he grins and squeals with delight. It's amazing to watch him learn and develop right before my eyes.

Bye Bye Building!

I thought I might one day feel a bit nostalgic for the apartment building where Max was born. Well, yesterday as I was heading out with Max, the elevator decided not to come to our floor. Again. I had to carry the baby, the car seat, the stroller and my overstuffed diaper bag down 7 flights of stairs. Last week, the water was unexpectedly shut off for repairs for the better part of a day. So basically, there is absolutely no danger of me ever missing this place.

Max had an action packed day yesterday. After a good breakfast and some play-time, our little bear had a chat with Abuela Pola.

Then, he went out for brunch with Mom, Dad, Steve and Uncle Todd.
