Yesterday we had our follow up appointment with Dr. Newman, who performed the tongue-tie procedure last week. Max is doing really well, his mouth has completely healed, and he has gained a great amount of weight. He is now 12 lbs 14oz (5.84 kg), so he has continued to gain more than an ounce a day. My little baby is actually pretty huge! Max was showing off for the nurses and administrative staff by giving them his most charming smiles. What a little flirt! When Dr. Newman came into the examining room, he was surprised to see Max standing on my lap (with me holding him by his armpits, of course), and holding his head up on his own. He said that was all quite rare for a 7 week old baby. As soon as Max saw the doctor, he started crying, which prompted Dr. Newman to say that Max is smart because he remembers what the doctor did to him last week, lol. After our successful appointment, my son and I had a long Subway adventure home, complete with 3 line transfers and 2 extra long flights of stairs. Max alternately looked around with big eyes and slept peacefully, unperturbed by the clatter of the subway or by the noise of the other passengers.

If he keeps going like this Lea, Max will weigh more than I do by the time he's seven! lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Max's daily adventures with us. Real smile makers!
Love you all.
LOL! Well, when Max lies on my tummy, Paul says that he is already half as long as me!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the story going to see the doctor and Max remembering him from last week. He looks so adorable checking out the room and stretching his arms and legs.
ReplyDeleteThe one ready to go home is so cute...he is probably exhausted.
Yes, he is growing every minute.
I love those chubby thighs :) XOXOXO
