iMax

I have made a valuable discovery: a very cranky Max can be distracted by the "Baby Flashcards" app I have on my iPhone. He loves to use the touch screen to scroll through the images and he's fascinated by the whooshing noise it makes as he does so. He's actually quite proficient in using the touch screen. This tool buys Mommy valuable minutes of happy Max time, even when his teething blues are making him extra fussy.

"Don't bother me, Mom. I'm working!"
Another thing Max discovered yesterday that entertains him is inward screaming. Lucky for you, I don't have any video of him doing this. It's pretty loud and crazy. But I digress...
Later in the day Max enjoyed a nice lunch with his Mommy's friends, Galya and Isabella. He loved being able to sit up at the table like a big boy, thanks to the wonderful high chair contraption his Uncle Noah and Auntie Kim got him. Despite some clingy, cranky moments which are caused by teething (poor little guy is cutting a second tooth), it was a great afternoon.
Notice that Max dined on Raffi

Visiting Daddy

Yesterday, Max and I went for a nice long walk and ended up near Paul's work. We went to the little park behind the school to hang out and play while we waited to say hello, since Paul had a meeting and wouldn't be able to walk home with us. Max adores being in the park, the trees, passing people and dogs and the feeling of the warm, spring breeze on his face delight him. He particularly loves jumping on my knees and squealing with happiness at the passersby. He is quite the sight and he draws lots of attention.

When his Daddy finished work, we went to the school to see him. A group of grade 3 students were leaving the school and they were completely fascinated by little Max. It was a pretty adorable scene.
Also, today happens to be Max's 5 month birthday!!! It's amazing how quickly time passes.

Just Hanging Around

Here's a short video of Max enjoying his Jolly Jumper. He jumps even more vigorously at times than what you see here, but this is what I caught on camera to give you the general idea. Pay no attention to the Maple Leafs bib. Alas, all that logo is good for these days is catching drool... Sorry, Honey. You know it's true!

Long Weekend's End

Max had a great long weekend. He loves having his Daddy around all the time (as does his Mommy). He had a fun time going for walks:
Checking out the flowers

Max is happy that his Raffi is safe and secure, attached to his stroller. Thanks Uncle Noah and Auntie Kim!!!
The Raffis are Max's constant companions

He had brunch with his Tia, Mommy and Daddy, which he particularly loved:

There's only one thing on Max's menu, so it's never hard for him to decide

The "I love my Auntie" shirt from Auntie T works for Tias too
Max is happy to cuddle with Tia

Tia reads to Max. He loved every minute of it!
All tired out, ready for a walk in the rain
Finally, back at home Max had a nice bath and then got dressed in his Tigger pyjamas from Bubbie, ready for bed after another great day.
"Whoa-are those tigers down where my feet used to be???"

"What? Those ARE my feet???"
I think I love these pyjamas!

Stripey Sunday

Here are some shots of the little Punim hanging out in his striped pyjamas, enjoying the long weekend with his Mommy and Daddy. He hopes you are all enjoying the weekend as well!

Later, Max enjoys some "tushie time". Trop mignon!
"Hey Mom, you promise you won't show this to my friends when I'm a teenager, right?"

Sunny Springtime Stroll

Yesterday was the most beautiful day: sunny, warm, blue skies and a gentle breeze. It was a perfect day for a nice, long walk. Because Paul had to work, Max and I went down to meet him and to hang out in the exact same spot where Paul and I were married. Our friend Steve met up with us too, and we had a fun afternoon outside. I love watching Max take in all the scenery, awed by all the new nights and sounds.

Max has lunch in the sunshine in his own private tent

"Who's that???"

"Oh, it's just my friend Steve."

Fluffy Bum

Yesterday was Earth Day- a perfect day to start cloth diapering little Max! We have been building up our cloth diaper stash for a while now and I am happy to say that we have officially made the switch. The timing couldn't have been more perfect: Max had developed a diaper rash from teething, which I believe was made much worse by regular diapers. My theory seems to hold true because after just one night of wearing cloth, it is almost completely gone! It's only a little more work to do cloth, or "fluff" as it's known in cloth-diapering mama circles, but I think that the benefits for Max's bum, and his planet, are well worth it. Cloth diapers have come a long way in the past decade. They are easy to use and to clean, and the ones I have don't require covers or pins. Plus, my little sweetheart somehow manages to look even cuter than usual in cloth... an added bonus.

"What are these things?"

"Hmmm they're colourful, good for me AND good for the Earth? Okay, I'll give them a shot!"
"They're much more comfortable than the disposable ones!"

These are Bumgenius brand, artist series diapers, some of my favourites (cloth is much nicer to look at than plastic!)
